1. Purpose

To provide Grain Trade Australia (GTA) members with a copy of the GTA submission to the Government’s consultation on the recommendations contained in the Final Report of the Review of the Port Terminal Access (Bulk Wheat) Code of Conduct, i.e., the “Wheat Port Code” (WPC) and ask members to consider providing submissions.

2. Background

In Member Update 23 of 24, GTA outlined the Government’s release of its Report on the WPC Review. Since then, GTA has worked with its Technical Committees and a WPC Working Group to consult and engage regarding the Government Report. This process included review and discussion on a GTA Submission in response to the Report.

The GTA Submission has been finalised and can accessed here. The Submission agreed with the Government Report and GTA will prepare to move forward with its recommendations.

3. GTA Member Submissions

GTA members are encouraged to submit feedback on the WPC Report to ensure their views and positions are clearly communicated to the Government.

Submissions can be brief, and members are welcome to either agree or disagree with the position outlined in the GTA submission. Submissions can be made by completing a DAFF survey or uploading written responses here.

The deadline for submissions is the 31 of January 2025.
