GSAMS

The Grain Storage Assets and Management Standard (GSAMS) is a voluntary industry standard developed by Grain Trade Australia (GTA) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).

Starting on 1 July 2026, GSAMS provides a framework for managing grain across Australia’s domestic and export supply chains. The Standard aligns with GTA’s Australian Grain Industry Code of Practice (Code) and supports Australia’s reputation as a reliable supplier of safe and high-quality grain.

GSAMS provides an alternative method for demonstrating compliance with importing country and export requirements while maintaining the same level of regulatory assurance. Through adoption of the Standard, industry is expected to achieve increased compliance with the Code and greater confidence in grain storage, management and quality systems throughout the supply chain.

Who can apply?

GSAMS applies to all grains and is available to any Australian grain industry organisation that chooses to apply it for the purposes of managing grain along the domestic or export supply chain.

Adoption of GSAMS is voluntary.
