Director - Special Qualifications (Legal)

Geoff Farnsworth was appointed to the GTA Board in October 2002 as a Director with Special Qualifications. He is currently a Chair of the Dispute Resolution Service Committee and a Member of the Governance and Membership Committees.

 

Geoff is an international independent commercial arbitrator and senior maritime and commodities lawyer with over 30 years’ experience in navigating complex cross-border disputes.

 

Appointed as arbitrator and tribunal secretary in maritime, trade, commodities and transport disputes, Geoff regularly acts as counsel in international arbitrations. Geoff is recognised globally for expertise in shipping, admiralty, agribusiness and energy disputes, with deep procedural knowledge, strong case management capability and commercially grounded decision-making. Geoff was previously a partner at Holding Redlich law firm.

 

He holds a position on the GTA Commerce and GTA Transport, Storage and Ports Technical Committees, acts as Legal Counsel to GTA and is a Director of the Australian Logistics Council.
