GTA advises Members and industry of a regulatory update from Oman. A new requirement has been introduced requiring shipments to be palletised, with limited exemptions, including grain packed in bulk into containers.
This measure aims to improve the efficiency of cargo handling, expedite customs clearance procedures, and support the smooth flow of trade.
The mandatory use of pallets for consignments arriving through land border crossings was effective 15 July. The mandatory implementation of pallets for imports entering Oman via air and seaports will commence on 15 September 2026.
