TOPIC: Passing of Don Cattanach—Shearwater International

1. Purpose

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don Cattanach over the weekend, at the age of 63, after bravely battling leukemia.

2. Background

Don was a highly respected figure in the grains industry, dedicating his entire career to it. He began his journey at the age of 17, straight out of school, joining Riverina Stockfeeds. In 1997, he made a significant step in his career by acquiring the grain broking business, Shearwater International, where he continued to work until his retirement.

Throughout his time in the industry, Don touched the lives of many with his integrity, mentorship, musical talents, and a wicked sense of humour. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Nicole Cattanach and the family, Dylan, Andrea, Holly, Mitch, and Cooper, extend an invitation to friends and colleagues to join them in celebrating Don’s life. The celebration will take place at 11am on Friday, February 23, at Mt Gravatt Crematorium, located at 620 Mains Road, Nathan, Queensland.
