When the CoR laws were updated in 2018 to align more closely with Workplace Health and Safety laws there was a number of updates many participants along the supply chain aren’t aware of, including:
In partnership with National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), GTA is offering training in the “Practical Steps to CoR Compliance”. This online training module consists of 3 parts and contains all necessary information to become equipped with practical steps on how to reach CoR Compliance as an organisation, executive officer, individual and/or primary producer.
On completion of the course and assessments, you will receive a Certificate in CoR Compliance.
The course consists of 3 online modules which take around 30 minutes each to complete. These can be done all at once, or over a period of time, whatever suits your schedule. You can complete the course on mobile, tablet or desktop. At the end of the three modules you’ll understand the fundamentals of CoR, who is responsible and when, what part you play, where you fit and where your obligations lie along the chain. The course also covers off due diligence, risk management and safety management systems, and how to practically implement CoR in your business, or on your farm. There are extra resources and activity booklets to follow along with and a short assessment at the end, so when you come out of the training, you’ll already have some of the risk management framework in place.
Something we’ve found over the past few years is many participants, from Primary Producer all the way through to end user, aren’t 100% sure where they fit into the chain, when they’ll be held responsible and what risk management framework they need to have in place. The purpose of the free online training course is to provide all grain industry participants an easy to access course to help them understand where they fit in and assist them through the process of being compliant.
