Following industry consultation, including a submission from NWPGP/GTA, the APVMA has reversed its decision to remove access to Fenitrothion for use in stored grain for insect control. GTA’s Australian Grain Industry Code of Practice played an important role in the submission, highlighting quality assurance practices that support the sector’s integrated pest management strategy. While approval for structural treatments has been withdrawn, the use of Fenitrothion on bulk-stored grain entering silos remains authorised.
