The 2025-26 Grain Trading Standards are available on the GTA website.
The Grain Trading Standards are developed through industry consultation, outline the quality parameters and requirements for Australian grain and are reviewed annually to ensure they remain relevant, practical and current.
This year, multiple changes were made across all commodities. GTA members are encouraged to review the updated Grain Trading Standards in detail to ensure they are aware of the requirements before the new season.

Included in the Trading Standards package, the Visual Recognition Standards Guide (VRSG) 2025 is also now available.
As part of GTA’s role to facilitate trade, the guide supports certainty and consistency in grain assessment and grading at receival sites across Australia.
Featuring clear photographs, the VRSG assists samplers and assessors in identifying defective grains, such as moulds and discolouration, as defined in the GTA and Australian Oilseeds Federation (AOF) Standards.
The 2025 edition includes new and more descriptive images, thanks to the combined efforts of GTA’s Technology Sub-Committee. GTA extends particular thanks to GrainCorp, which coordinates the preparation of the guide on behalf of the industry.
