Grain Trade Australia (GTA) has released a new Australian Grain Industry Code of Practice Training Program, designed to support the revised Australian Grain Industry Code of Practice (Code).
The Code is a key element of the industry’s Self-Regulatory Framework, setting standards to ensure Australian grain products continue to meet both domestic and international customer and regulatory requirements.
The new training program is available free of charge to all GTA members and the wider Australian grain industry. It provides a practical, self-paced online module that can be completed in under an hour, concluding with an assessment. A Certificate of Completion is issued upon successful completion of the course.
GTA CEO Pat O’Shannassy said the training was developed to ensure all participants in the grain supply chain have the opportunity to demonstrate their understanding of the revised Code. The program also enables employers to confirm that their staff are aware of the requirements and obligations contained in the Code.
“Providing a free and accessible training program is an important step in reinforcing industry standards and giving participants the confidence they understand their obligations under the Code,” Pat said.
Registrations for the Code Online Training Program are now open on the GTA website.
Members are encouraged to nominate a dedicated Code Champion within their organisation to lead awareness and compliance in the Code. This will strengthen commitment to the industry standard and support the self-regulatory framework.
