Grain Trade Australia (GTA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ole Houe as Chair of the GTA Board, effective 28 October 2025.

Ole brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served nine years on the GTA Board as a Director. His deep understanding of the Australian and global grain industry, combined with his long-standing commitment to GTA’s mission, positions him well to lead the organisation into its next phase.

The appointment follows a rigorous selection process supported by an external recruitment firm. Three highly qualified candidates were considered, ensuring a transparent and well-governed process to identify the best fit for the role.

On his appointment, Ole said: “I’m honoured to step into the role of Chair. Andrew’s leadership has set a strong foundation, and I look forward to continuing that work with the Board to support GTA members and the broader grain industry.”

Ole Houe succeeds Andrew Goyder, who is retiring after serving as Chair since October 2018. Andrew joined the GTA Board in 2014 as an elected Director nominated by Level C Members and has provided strong leadership during a period of significant progress for GTA and the Australian grain industry.

Outgoing Chair Andrew Goyder said he was confident GTA was in capable hands.

“It’s been a privilege to serve as Chair, and I’m pleased the Board undertook such a thoughtful and thorough succession process,” Andrew said. “Ole’s experience and understanding of the industry make him the right choice to guide GTA’s continued success. I wish him every success in the role.”

GTA CEO Pat O’Shannassy thanked Andrew for his service and welcomed Ole’s appointment.

“Andrew has made an outstanding contribution to GTA and the grain industry through his leadership and steady governance,” Pat said. “I thank him for his dedication over many years and look forward to working with Ole as GTA continues to deliver value for members and maintain confidence in the Australian grain value chain.”
