TOPIC: Applications Now Open for GTA’s 2025–2026 Five Under 30 Program

Grain Trade Australia’s (GTA) flagship leadership development initiative for emerging grain professionals is back for 2025–2026, with applications now open.

Now in its third year, GTA’s Five Under 30 program offers emerging professionals across the Australian grain industry the chance to gain mentorship, industry exposure and leadership development opportunities.

GTA CEO Pat O’Shannassy said the program reflects GTA’s focus on strengthening future leadership across the grain supply chain. “Supporting and engaging younger people is critical to the long-term success of the Australian grain industry,” Pat said. “We’re committed to creating opportunities that help future leaders build skills and deepen their connection with the sector.”

Launched in 2023, Five Under 30 is designed to recognise and support early-career professionals while encouraging greater participation in GTA’s work and broader industry activities.

Each year, five individuals under the age of 30 are selected for a 12-month program that offers targeted mentoring, professional development and the chance to build stronger networks across the industry. A key focus of the program is inclusion and diversity, with GTA encouraging applications from individuals with different backgrounds, experiences and geographic locations across the grain value chain.

Selection Process
Participants are selected based on merit, with careful consideration given to gender, background, industry experience and regional representation to ensure a balanced and representative cohort.

How to Apply
Applications for the 2025–2026 program are now open to eligible individuals from GTA Member organisations who are under the age of 30 at the time of application.
